Starting A Virtual Architecture
We are embarking on a process to determine how/if we can transition our current server environment to a virtual server environment. We operation 12-16 application servers running Windows OS and SQL-Server. Is there a source that answers our questions regarding the hardware and software to buy to be able to make this transition?

I wonder if someone might point me at something that illustrates the additional problems of securing something like VMWare? Virtual machine costs/utilization
We are interested in being able to allocate costs for vm’s back to cost centers.  We use some vmware esx and xenserver in limited instances.  Are there any third party tools out there that can take usage data from both of these platforms to give us one consolidated view of utilization -  time and cpu.

Consequences of Virtual Machines(VM) after the hardware failure
