Can you connect a Cisco 7940 desktop IP phone through a wireless switch/bridge to a Cisco access point?

Is it possible to connect a Cisco 7940 desktop IP phone through a wireless switch or bridge to a Cisco access point (AP) and make it work? I am having problems with this setup. It is most probably unsupported but we sure would like to make it work. Thanks!
