Why do I have to reset the wireless adapter on my laptop when the other 3 computers using the same router never do ?

If two wireless clients log on to the same network and both have the same static ip configured for the wireless adapter and they log on at the same time what will happen? Will either be able to use it? Or both intermittently? Is there a way to protect from this? We use static ips around here for reporting.

My Wifi often disconnects or turns off for no reason and it just started to happen for about a week. I haven’t changed anything on my laptop but it just disconnects. Right now I have to use a cable to use the internet. How can I fix this?
