SBS 2003 Exchange Server

I have a client using SBS 2003 Exchange Server. Outlook Users connect to exchange with a microsoft exchange server address similiar to this:
MyExchange.local
I am trying to setup an iPhone and know I cannot connect to a .local.
What is the easiest way to resolve my problem?

I’m having an issue with a SBS2003 with exchange 2003. I’ve set up a new web domain name which we are going to use within the recipient policy. They already have several domain names so nothing new but, with the new domain name I’m getting a bounch back saying the connection is refused. This is coming from the external ISP “4.4.0 – Other network problem ‘[Errno 61] Connection refused’”. Now this domain name isn’t setup any different to the other domain names but this is only happening with the new domain name.

I am running Sophos PM and I have set that up as the others as well. The only thing different to this domain name to the others is a different DNS host but I can ping and telnet to the address and get the same response as the other domains.

I just don’t know what else to do and they are trying to roll out the rebranding with the new domain name and this is holding them back now.

Users not receiving alerts to new General Discussion

We have a company website on our SBS 2003 server. Some of the users are not receiving email alerts to new General Discussion items even though their alert settings indicate that they shuld be receiving them immediately. Is there some other setting that is impeding the sending of the email?

Sync 2 personal Outlook calendars to my iPhone

In addition to my Outlook default calendar, I have another calendar in personal folders (both under “My Calendars”). Using Exchange, the default calendar syncs properly to my IPhone but the secondary calendar does not. Please advise how to sync both Outlook calendars to the IPhone. Thank you.

Even without email relay enabled or anyone gaining unauthorized access to the SBS 2003 server, our Exchange none the less became a SPAM source. Thousands of SPAM emails sent during a few hour period. I was wondering what others have found as a root cause for such a takeover and their experiences.

SBS 2003 to 2011 Migration Failure

I’m running out of ideas on my SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 migration I’m attempting. The SBSSetup.log file contains the text at the end of this post showing where it bombs out. The migration appears to fail on SharePoint. The client doesn’t even use SharePoint. I’ve run the best practices analyzer and all the other steps in the migration documentation twice now with the same result. After the first attempt I restored from backup, fully removed SharePoint and reinstalled it using Microsoft’s documentation (manually removed it piece by piece then used Add/Remove to change components on the SBS entry to re-add SharePoint using disc 3 of SBS 2003). And of course, after reinstalling SharePoint I reinstalled 2.0 SP3 for SharePoint.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this problem? The error message doesn’t appear to be one publicly documented in this context…

Problem migrating SBS 2008 to SBS 2008

hello,

i’m facing a problem while trying to migrate SBS2003 to SBS2008

when installing sbs2008 it reads my answer file. But then i get an error: “the schemalevel of the existing sourceserver hasn’t been adjusted” you have to adjust the schemalevel on the sourceserver.

so i thought ok, i’ll just do adprep /forestprep adprep /domainprep adprep /domainprep /gpprep right? apparently not as i keep getting the same fault. when i run the source server migration tool it cannot prepare looking at the code it shows me this:
