It depends on what type of DFS structure you selected. If you selected a domain namespace then the servers will need to be on the same domain/forest or trusted. If you selected a single namespace then you can only use the single DFS server. Replication will work over a WAN as long as each domain [...]
Microsoft does not provide this capability natively in Active Directory. Some third party providers have created solutions. You can try these to see if they work for you. <a href=”http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2005.05.utilityspotlight.aspx”>TechNet Utility Spotlight: Limit Login Attempts With LimitLogin</a> <a href=”http://www.isdecisions.com/products/userlock/limits-concurrent-logins.htm”>Limit concurrent logins with UserLock</a>
I assume that the users are already logging into the SQL Server with the domain credentials in question? As long as the two domains are trusted then the authentication call will work as expected. If there is no trust between them then neither idea will work, unless there’s a forest trust setup or some other [...]
Why not just start each of the programs as an admin first, then any user who goes to that machine will be fine to use it. Would be much simpler and safer than giving admin rights to everyone on a local machine.
There can be any number of causes. If the server is up and all stores mounted then find out if anyone else is having the problem. If they are you need to look at network connectivity between the clients and the server. If noone else is experiencing problems it is isolated to just the one [...]
It is a problem with the IP Filter
It means that your client can not reach your internal DNS server. Use static configuration and hardcode your client to use your internal DNS server IP that holds forward lookup zone for your domain. ping your DNS server from that client machine to make sure that there is no connectivity problem. *** Reverted back to [...]

Anything…..ANYTHING! can be cracked given the right motivation, tools and time. encrypted VPNs are obviously better at protecting you. You can use Cisco but they have had some appliances with gapping holes in security before now so you’re potentially not getting any benefit other than they are a good strong company with good support. As [...]
Yes it can be done. But a simpler way may be to set up the print server role on a server that can a little extra work load and set up all of the printers there. Then you can just map to the printers to clients. You can do this in a number of ways. [...]

Have you had a look into Group Policy for deployment? It is a little limited to .MSI files but almost any software can be made into a .MSI package by using free programs such as Winstall LE and a clean Virtual PC. It won’t uninstall any software you currently have deployed in the wild but [...]
seeing as no one’s done this can I have the book anyway?
What kind of connection is Outlook using? MAPI or POP3? If MAPI, is it set on cached mode? If POP3, check their send/receive options and see how often the client is set to do a send/receive. That may answer your question as to when the second user got the email.
