We need to add a Windows Firewall rule to all AD 2003 machines. How can we set that up via group policy? Where is the setting?

I am working on a query that needs to look up Contacts that are not Users in an OU

OU = Test Users 2

DC = Domain

DC= CA

contacs are stroed under Test Users 2

Example of a contact distinguishedName: CN=contact1,OU=Test Users 2,DC=domain,DC=ca

The queries I tried are below:

(&(objectClass=contact)(memberof=OU=Test User 2,DC=domain,DC=ca) (!objectClass=person)) – that didn’t work

then i tried

(&((objectClass=person)(objectClass=contact)(memberof=OU=Test Users 2,DC=domain,DC=ca))((!objectClass= person)(!objectClass=user)))

this didn’t work either

I tried this query because I think I have got 2 objectClass for contacts and users listed in the LDAP Browser such as for Contacts it see that it is objectClass= person and objectClass=contact and for users I see objectClass=person and objectClass = user in the LDAP browser that I use.

Local groups variables and GPO

I currently pushing down all user rights assignemnts and security options via a central group policy from the AD server, this works great. I have however run into a road block, I need to define a local group for group of servers on the user rights assigments “Adjust memory quota” Lets call the group “ADJUSTMEM” so each server has this local group defined with different users in each group on each server. So when I speficy the policy I want to use the local group for that particular server. Each of these groups cannot have access to each other servers User rights. I basically want to know is there away I can specify this group using a variable in GP.

Active Directory Account Disappears and hours later Reappears

We have a problem that happened last week. Where for what ever reason we had some user accounts and a group disappear from our Active Directory. No one was logged in as an admin and no changes were made that day. This prevented the users from logging into the AD. Later in the afternoon the accounts and group reappeared and no one again was logged in as admin to make any changes. Has anyone seen this problem or have any idea what to do to prevent it from happening again?

Deleted Users

We had an employee delete a user in active directory and now we can’t restore it and when we try to add a new user in the department the new users disappear and reappear just like the one he deleted. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem?

Hide specific views in Document Library

Hi,

Is it possible to hide specific public views in the view list for specific Active Directory Groups?

So if there are three views: operationel, external and management. And I want an external to see only the option for the external view and hide the others.

So hiding any items when another view is selected is not an option. The view has to be hidden in the list.

I’m using AD Groups, so I can’t create a view for each user.

Hope anyone can help me.
