Windows Patch Package could not be opened.

When trying to install: Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats, I get this message: “This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package.” What does this mean?

just wondering once you guys patch windows servers (any type), SQL server, windows xp or even as400, do you guys come out with a checklist or a document to show that the patch has been installed on the servers?

Slowdown after applying Windows Server 2003 patch

Disc slowed down after we applied cumulative patches on Windows 2003 Datacenter Edition IA64 Itanium2 16 CPU 128Gb RAM server. Is there a solution. Discs are not fragmented though.
