We are just about to buy a server that will be running Small Business Server 2008. I know the cilents machines can run windows 7, vista and xp.

But due to reasons we still have a couple of computers running windows nt 4.0 and would like to know if we would be able to use this OS to login into the server?

Thanks,

multi-national company that consists for six very different business
units and need some help, advice, or pointers in making this
implementation happen. Each business unit currently has its own Windows
NT 4.0 domain and a full complement of IT staff (administrators and help
desk). What type of structure can I choose for this organization and
why? Also, what would be the possible implications of this design vs.
the alternatives? Thanks in advance.

I current have a small network ( less than 100 clients/servers) that is controlled by a single NT 4.0 SP6 DC. I am in the process of creating a BDC, and have WINS installed with server A and server B as push/pull partners to each other. When I click on (local) for the DB of server B (new BDC) I do not see any mappings other than itself. The other server (current DC) shows all of its mappings. Isn’t the entire db supposed to replicate when I click the replicate now button in the WINS manager?
This may seem like a dumb question, but I am clueless as to how NT operates, and Microsoft had to refund me my support call money because they were unable to assist me also.

I have a single named NT 4.0 SP6 controlled domain EX:”domain” and am unable to upgrade that server. The critical apps do not run on anything beyond NT.
Can I create a new NT DC (new server hardware)with the single name domain then upgrade it to 2003 perfoming the Microsoft specified actions to allow single name domian usage and then demote the old NT DC?
