Virtual Machine reset

Server hangs when adding a network adapter after a P-V
Did a P-V on a windows 2003 SP1 system.  When adding a network card, the OS hangs and the only way to get it back is to reboot the system.   Any idea what is preventing the system from adding the network driver?

The start-up type of the Orchestrator Sever Service is set as automatic, still the VMware Orchestrator Server service doen’t start automatically at Windows boot-up.
