I tried to install ESX on my PC and a HP DL series server. But after the installation the server does not boot. May I please know what is the specific hardware required for ESX to be installed and used.

hi

i am new to this technology. So i am getting started on. My query is can we install VMware server on redhat enterprise linux?

Since vmware server is free from were can i download it for redhat linux and Windows xp supported.

can any1 help me out as i am new to this the installing procedure in linux

I am trying to install VMware ESXi 3.5 on a machine with an IDE drive and am getting the following error message:
“Unable to find a supported device to write the VMware ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 image to”.

For partitioning VMWare ESX Server 3.5 during installation do you have to use the default configuration or can you edit it. If you can edit it does anyone have any recommeneded schemes to use?

VMware’s ESXi on a laptop?

I just downloaded vmware’s esxi, but before I get in the business of messing arround with my production server I’d like to test it first on my laptop. I wish to know if such a thing is possible and which problems I may run into. I have to stress the fact that I want to do this for testing and benchmarking porposes only. I’m not sure if my hard disk is IDE or SATA, would that make a difference?. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
