VMware ESXi install error on Dell PowerEdge 1950

trying to install ESXi on a Poweredge 1950, with a 2 drive RAID 1, PERC 5i controller configuration, but when the ESXi image boots I get the following error:

‘Unable to find a supported device to write the ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 image to’

Can anyone help

VMWare ESXi RAID issues on installation. Dell 600SC server

I have a Dell Power Edge 600SC server with a RAID card. At the install screen, I press ALT-F1 and I see that the megaraid2 drivers load, but the installation still cannot find a supported device to install too.

VMWare ESXi Hypervisor Installation on CentOS 64

Currently have a virtual installation of SME 7.3 on Centos64/Vmware server for the last year
Interested in hearing about the free virtual platform, the ESXi hypervisor

What is the difference from the Vmware server that I am running ? Is it true that the ESXi hypervisor will be able to run direct on the hardware without the underlaying Centos64 host system that I use now?

Any experiences would be helpful
