Visual Basic Login form and second form load

I am building an application that uses a username/passworm form for login and want to load from a flat file info relevant to the username entered in the login form. Will the code for the reading of the flat file go in the form_load of my second form this is the code I am trying to develop with no success:

I have this sample code ( below ), whatever1() method works with no problem, whatever2() is similar but I must force const_char to make it compile, although I consider as whatever1() method is not needed, whatever2() would be not needed either.

My question is, how can I modify add() method to make both compile or how must I correctly call buffer.add() in whatever2() without forcing const_cast? add() method is not modifying item, so const_cast is unnecessary. Which is the correct or suitable form?

I’m running Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional on a Windows 7 laptop and trying to learn C#. I’m working on recursion and want to prompt the user to enter a specific word into a console application and then use a recusive method to print each character of the user-supplied word on a separate line by itslef. What is the best way to accomplish this task?

How do i change font and bold on a button during run time?

Font size and bolding are read only during runtime, but there is a way to change them on a button during runtime. I had the solution on a prior program, but the file has been corrupted and I can’t retrieve it.

I am using VB 2008 on a new Dell desktop. No performance problems are involved here.

Management Central running but cannot open.

Management Central is running but when I try to open it I get “An unhandled win32 exception occurred in cwbunnav.exe” It opens a Visual Studio Just-In-Time debugger. Selecting Yes to debug doesn’t work because the source is unavailable. Selecting No (and when exiting the debugger), the iNavigator terminates. So far every thing I’ve read leads me to believe I should be able to open it. We’re on v5r3, my iSeries Access is v6r1. We tried this on 4 PC’s (one at Access v5r3) with the same results.
