Hyper-V Manager console showing no virtual machines

when I launched the Hyper-V manager yesterday, I got this message "'No virtual machines were found on this server' under the Virtual Machine panel. I checked and found that the VHD still exist. Any help with troubleshooting? user submitted

Backing up entire virtual machines.

I want to backup all my virtual machines, as a whole. Not just files on a virtual machine, I want to grab the whole virtual machine. Is there a way to automate this? I have about 10 virtual servers, each has between 2-5 virtual machines running. I am using Hyper-V

Duplicating VM's

I am testing various software packages against a standard OS configuration. I am running VMWARE server. Is there a way to duplicate a VM? I then can run my tests against the standard VM. Delete it and start a new batch against a virgin copy of the configured OS.
