I help run an company that provides IT consulting services to small / medium businesses. I am looking for a spam applicance where we could brand the appliance with our logo and name and resell the anti spam service to our clients where the MX record would be pointed to our spam applicance and redirected to our clients Exchange. Each day the appliance would send each person a report – like Baracuda appliance, but with our name and logo on it. Anyone know of such of a device or service?

Is anyone successfully using Laserfiche (scanning software) with the Fujitsu fi-6670?

IT and the VAR are working on the problems but of course not quickly enough to suit the users. We would like open a dialog with soemone who has been successful.

What are Web services, and how can they benefit my clients?

Our expert on SearchSystemsChannel.com says the advantages of Web services are that they’re “platform independent (your customers can essentially run any OS), secure and scalable. They’re also Web-based, so they run over Port 80, which many firewalls do not block.”

Are you a fan of Web services? How is your company using them? Are they the Next Big Thing for the channel?

Some experts say that security VARs and consultants aren’t doing enough to help their clients formulate meaningful security metrics. The argument is that the typical security metrics aren’t business-focused enough (e.g., cost reduction), so most companies end up viewing security as just an overhead grudge purchase.

Do you think more can be done to make a positive business case for IT security? What advice would you give to help VARs and consultants make that case?

How to determine if a client-side Internet connection is using VPN?

A German Seti@Home user is asking the Boinc developers’ forum how one can determine if a TCP/IP connection is a VPN connection or not. Management of his company does not want Boinc using the connection if it is a VPN. Can you tell me how one can tell if a client-side Internet connection is a VPN using, presumably, the Windows API? Thank you in advance for your help.

Question about Canadian Call Center processing US Credit Cards

If you are a Canadian Call Center processing US Credit Cards for US residents over the phone for another reseller do you have to be PCI compliant? Assume no software is hosted or stored on premise bit is done by a 3rd party based in US. What regulations does the Call Center fall under?
