User has a directory with 2-300 JPG files from a camera. Not all of these files will show as thumbnails in the thumbnail view. The break is always at the same point in the listing. No error messages are recorded or shown.

If I flip between thumbnail and detail views several times, the thumbnails will eventually show for those files originally shown as icons.

No thumbs.db is created in this directory. However, from the research I have done on this problem, it appears that a thumbs.db is not necessary to produce thumbnails.

Can anyone lead me down the path toward a fix for this problem?
