Hi, I have a Server with server 2003 and 2 terminals. When I log in the terminal starts fine but when I want to navegate the network by My network places it tells me that I have problems with my permissions, but this is just from 2 days ago, it was perferct for 3 years running. I don’t understand.
Can anyone help me ???

Running server 2003 and server 2008 on separate terminal server.
Is there any way to see who logs in and when remotely ?

Allow terminal server users to install ActiveX control without being local admin?

I am using Software Restriction Policies in terminal server with server 2008.
I need to be able to restrict TS users from certain parts of a applications database.
I am not sure what the databases type are as yet.May be SQL or not.
can you suggest how can i restrict the users access to certain numbers / part of the database

I work for small school district with about 600 PCs on our network. We have a 1GB backbone and 12 servers (7 of them VMs). I recently put in a large terminal server to utilize thin clients, but found restricts with software I could run on the server OS (Win 2008R2). In some research, I came across software from InstallFree that virtualizes applications. This software allows to application portability, compatibility, and control. However, I have concerns because everyone is talking VDI setups. I don’t them my network can deliver full desktops all over the district. So virtualizing apps makes sense to me, but maybe I’m missing something. I look to the experts for a pros and cons on V Apps or V Desktops.
