Hi,

This is going to be a long winded question so bare wuth me

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and working with templates.

I have 2 templates “details page” and “pages”.

I created a folder containing pages based off both templates and named the folder “duplicate_for_entry.

In the folder there contains 21 webpages. 1 based off “details page” and 20 based off “pages”. The files based on the “pages” template were renamed to “page1″ “page2″ and so on.

These pages have links linking to each other within an editable region. The links are based on a “next” and “previous”, for instance the details page being the first page has a “next” link pointing to “page1″ and “page1″ has “previous” poining to the “details” page and “next” pointing to “page2″ and so on.

I use this folder when I want to create a new entry into my website. I duplicate the folder and then rename it to the article contained in the folder.

My problem here is when I duplicate the folder all the links in the folder are pointing to the files in the duplicated folder “copy of duplicate for entry” and there is nothing wrong. BUT when I rename the folder to the name of the article, for arguments sake I will call this folder say “article” the links do not point to files inside “article” folder they remain pointing to “copy of duplicate this for entry”. Meaning that these links do not update even when I tell dreamweaver to update links, it ignores the “next” and “previous” links.

Needless to say this has become very frustrating as it does create more work for me having to go into the folder and redo all the links.

My question is, Is there a way to make the links update properly? Or is there a workaround that I can use that may help me do this faster or more efficiently than the current method I am using?

Hoping I might get some help with this one, unfortunately the support at VM is not top notch when it comes to 3i.

I have a template in LOCATION-US which I need to copy to LOCATION-EUROPE.
Currently, these two ESX servers are managed with seperate VCs.
I have a 2 mb WAN.
The template is 4.5 gb compressed which means approximately 4-6 hours of transfer time.
3i does not have the linux console that made FTPing or SCPing of files easy.

Aside from using the new VI client method which would mean COPYing a file/directory down to my local windows workstation – which un-compresses the template to 20 GBs – and then uploading to my European data store location over the WAN – which now increases my upload time to 20-24 hours.

My only thought is to add my EUROPEAN ESX to my VC and taking over management and then COPYing the template. Can I then simple log into my European VC and take management of that ESX server back without any issues?

Is there a better way?

Is there a way to keep my template compressed to 4.5 gb and still transfer this directory somehow?

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.
