Are there any Synon experts out there? (20 plus years)

Experienced, 20 years plus, synon developers have probably forgotten more about synon than the new generation (yes there are young people learning synon) will ever know.

Does any of those experts remember the phantom + sign on subfile displays when there were no more records to display? If so, what is the solution to preventing it?

How to prevent + sign or ‘More’ from displaying on Synon generated display file when no records left to load?

Hi can any body tell how can i enter into synon from as/400 command line.When i entered ystry2 it showing the message the command in not present in *libl.I dont know the library that synon uses in my company as/400 server. How can i find the Library name of Synon model.

Hi,

My Synon program doesnt allows me to add more than 10 OR Conditions in one CASE Statement.

C1 OR C2 OR C3 OR C4 OR C5 OR C6 OR C7 OR C8 OR C9 OR C10 OR C11 OR C12 OR C13.

when given like above, it only generates the source for first 10 conditions. Remaining are ignore and even no error messages while generating the source or compiling the program.

Is there any setup needs to be done or it was synon’s functionality to provide only 10 conditions in one single case statement.

Does anyone have/know where I can get a crib sheet or instructions I can skim through for the Synon screen designer tool? I had one, but seem to have lost it. I only use this very occasionally, so my memory can be a little patchy…

Security for Synon library lists?

I am having some problems locking down the library lists available to my developers. I’m sure previously, if they attempted to change their library list, using the synon library lists previously setup, and they were not authorised to one of the libraries in that list, it would fail. For some reason it doesn’t fail now and we get swamped with authority errors because they have “live” objects in a developers job library list.

I have looked at the lists themselves and there doesn’t seem to be a way of securing them from there. There has been no authority changes to the libraries themselves and I have been through and checked them.

Any help greatly appreciated!

What is the difference between Cool:Plex and Cool:2E

CPF0006 during SBMJOB (COOL 2E generated code)

I have used SBMJOB in the COOL 2E SYNON code (Generating COBOL source).
During runtime, the fucntion crashes with CPF0006 message when trying to submit the program through Y2CMEXC.

Is it the error caused by the Y2BLSJR command through which the parameters for the SBMJOB is set?
