Sybase to Oracle
If I move a database from Sybase to Oracle with no coding changes what is the impact on the target database with respect to CPU, Memory, IO, etc?  Note that the OS will go from Solaris to LINUX also.

Is there are way to shrink sybase database to reclaim physical space at OS?
We have a database with 15GB freespace, we want to shirnk it and reduce device size so the physical space can be recliamed at the OS level also. Is it possible?

protect sybase DB on centos server
I would like to know if there is an anitivirus prog that will scan automatically on sybase DB’s. Our server allows staff to upload word doc’s into the DB,,, with the increase of virus’s occuring on out windows PC’s,,, i would like to add protection to the doc’s in the DB. Any ideas?
