yast2 not working : in SUSE linux 10
”need to install yast2-ncurses for yast2 text interface…. ” I am getting this error message when trying to run yast….. I already tried the following 1) installing yast2-ncurses 2) ldconfig 3) rcxdm restart I am also not able to start “gdm” can any one suggest a better solutin ???

Change screen resolution in SUSE Linux to 1024*768
On SLES, without graphical interface, my screen resolution is currently at 1280*1024. I need to change to 1024*780 which is the maximum supported by my new rack console. Can someone tell me how to change it? Thanks!

SuSE Linux ckuid/ckgid command equivalents
I’m looking for commands equivalent to the ckuid/ckgid in Solaris or getuic/getuid in UnixWare. The Linux “id” command can possibly substitute for ckuid but that still leaves ckgid. These commands also need to work in a NIS environment. Any ideas? Thanks!
