An idea how to add the system units tape drive to the encryption configuration. We have TS3200 tape library with 4 drives and encryption status is ON.

Already change Cable, and entire Tape Drive, still cannot solve. Any idea? AS/400 Tape Device is not avilable

Our tape drive has been issuing error messages. Last week it required cleaning and we found one new tape to be defective. Today’s error indicates t he tape drive is not available because another task is using the tape drive. This is not the case, any fixes out there?

Trouble getting LTO2 tape drive to compress backups on Backup Exec 2010

I am using Backup exec 2010 and I can not get my LTO2 tape drive to compress backups. The tapes and drive support 200/400 compressed but I can only store up to 200GB max.

How can I view the files on the back up tape itself and not the log? I need to verify which tape has the most recent files on it, out of several monthly tapes.

Disabled DST password oncomplete system restore

I have posted this question as part of an old discussion but have not seen an answer so please forgive the second posting but I can really use some help on this one. I am doing a complete restore to a I515 backup system which is identical to our main system. After finishing research I have attempted my first shot at a full restore. I obviously did not read enough because I managed to disable the DST user/password at the point I am ready to start the disk configuration. The licensed internal code has been loaded and the disk initialization is complete. I cannot get to the command line and cannot get into DST to reset the password. One screw up I was not prepared for. I am using a twinax console that is the only device besides a tape drive connected. Do I have to restart the whole procedure to recover? Any help?

LTO3 tape drive issue after cleaning

After cleaning my LTO3 tape drive with a cleaning tape it will not recognize my old tapes., It seems to write to new ones without an issue but the old ones with data are showing up as UNKNOWN.

Hi. . . I have this tape drive attached to an EKM server for encryption is showing this error everytime I do a DUPTAP Message . . . . : Condition of source/sink object TAP05 not valid. Cause . . . . . : The condition of the source/sink object is not valid. The affected operation value is X’4001′ and the primary object is TAP05. The condition is not valid for one of the following reasons: — Source/sink object associated with a create, destroy, modify, or request input/output (I/O) instruction is not in the correct condition to run this operation. — An independent ASP number was specified for the instruction and the independent ASP is not varied on. — A pointer to an independent ASP LUD was specified for the instruction and the independent ASP is not varied on” The tape drive in fact is attached to two EKM servers where the other act as a failover incase a timeout occurs while connecting to the first one. Hence, I was wondering where this IO error is coming from.
