Do they end with .CHK? They may well be usable files, in *some* cases. Other times, they are just corrupt data. ‘DIY Data Recovery’ has a <a href=”http://www.diydatarecovery.nl/chkmate.htm”>tool </a>that can figure out what type of file they really are and rename them for you.

Restoring LTO3 tape without the app that backed it up
Probably not. Most of the tape backup software uses proprietary formats which require that you have that software to restore the data from tape.

What is the best application for backing up multiple servers on my network?
