• Hardware problems……?

I've got a gateway laptop, Had an issue with it freezing 3/4 of the way through a reformat. Supposed that it was the HDD, So I bought a new one, sent off for new boot discs from gateway (just to cover all my bases). Ive installed the HDD and it's freezing at the same location.....any ideas?
