Backup Exec 12.5 does not backup All Mailboxes

I am running BackUp exec 12.5 and i am trying to backup exchange server 2007 and although it seems that the procedure is completed succesfully when i try to restore specific mailboxes i realize than not all mailboxes are getting backed up. Any suggestions???

Is Backup Exec 12.5 compatible with Windows server 2008 R2?

Backup Exec 12.5 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 continually shows this error in the event log: V-79-57344-65225 – A failure occurred accessing the Writer metadata. V-79-57344-65225 – AOFO: Initialization failure on: “System?State”. Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). Snapshot provider error (0xE000FEC9): A failure occurred accessing the Writer metadata. Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.Is the software not compatible with R2?

what backup system to use

In have 6 servers at the head office and 1 in 8 regions and I need to backup all data including data from regions. All should be backup centrally

I am currently using a single tape library and backing only data from the 6 servers only at the head office thus the reginalnservers are not been saved

Has symatec decided to officially support windows server 2008 r2 and is there a hotfix available for backup exec 12.5

Our business is setup currently with 1 domain controller and 3 servers (members of the domain) using remote agent to backup to one tape drive attached to the DC.

I need to add one other server but do not want it as part of the domain. Is it best to create a new domain for this server or leave it as part of the “workgroup”?

What are the advantages/disavantages of both?

Backup Exec 12.5 is taking few hours to backup Exchange database alone. Is there a way to speed this up? All other files are being backed up very quickly. Application is set to backup individual mailboxes.

Because of too much information, my LTO drive has been spanning tapes. Last night it couldn’t span because the next tape was not in the same media set. I was asked to insert a tape, but I couldnt’ insert a tape because the drive was locked. Couldn’t unlock the drive because a job was running?! Help

How I can get transportable snapshots created by Dell/EqualLogic Auto Snapshot manager to be used by Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 for backing up our data. I am looking for procedure that can help me in this issue. I looked on Symantec and Dell site but can’t find anything on it.
