SQL studio manager installation issue

Hi group, I am installing MS Studio manager 2005 but this will get recomment me to install MSXML 6 ,i installed this but then it recmoment to install Power shell ,i install this too but it recomment to install something new tooo. I installed windows new windows XP 2007SP2. this error occur 1st time. I installed many time MS studio manager 2005 but this time it show error. or kindly tell me other studio manager

I have upgraded SQL Server Express 2005 to Standard 2005. Every thing is updated and all Services are well running, But not able to login because I have got only Configuration Tools in Menu- Start->Programs->MSS 2005->Configuration Tools. and if I try through Run SQLWB,it’s shows not avalable. Kindly help how can I will get all menu and run with SQLWB. Thanks.

I have a column whose values range from 10-15 characters and whose last 7 characters I would like to get rid of. Can someone please show me how to do this? I thought it would be RTRIM but that didn’t work for me. I can’t use LEFT or RIGHT before the column because the column length is variable. I would appreciate any help. Thanks much. So here is an example of what I want to accomplish below:

PROBLEM EXAMPLE: 12345678.HELLO

FIXED EXAMPLE: 12345678

Merge synchronization using only Sql Server Express 2005

I’m developing a database application using VB.net. I would like to use SQL Server Express for the database so that my customers won’t have to purchase additional software along with the cost of my software. One of my requirements is that the application can use merge synchronization. Will merge synchronization work using RMO or some other method on installations where only SQL Server Express is available? A typical scenario would be where two or more PCs access the database on a network server while one or more notebook PCs (not always connected to the network server) have a local database that occasionally needs to synchronize to the network server. Problems installing BCM for Outlook 2007

I have purchased 9 seats though volume liscensing for Outlook 2007 with BCM. The first 7 installs with out a problem. The last 2 have thrown this error:

There are other log files, but they are MUCH longer, I can add them, or email them to ANYONE who is willing to help.

(or is there a way to attach a file to a question?)

I’ve looked for information on ‘sqlsupport.msi’ online, but all of the info seems related to SQL Server, not SQL server express, which is what BCM uses. I’m starting to feel out of my depths on this one anf figured I would stop before I made the problem worse.

I have removed the program and reinstalled but I still get the same message, I have also unistalled ALL MS SQL server programs using add/remove programs, and the deleted the related folders from the program files folder.

I have found a few other sites that describe this problem, but have NOT found a solution.

sql server express 2005 cannot see drive on my server (drive q)

I have installed sql server express on my local computer and now I would like to install it on the server (q). When I go to install it, it is not seeing the q drive. What could be causing this?

Issues rebuilding system database on SQL Server Express 2005

I am having some trouble rebuilding the system databases on my SQL Server Express 2005 instance.

While I have had a total system failure, the backups have been good.

I have restored the operating system but obviously there are no SQL system databases present (they were open at the time of the backup). So now I need to rebuild them before I restore the backups.

The setup starts OK when I run the recommended rebuild string:

Start /wait setup.exe /qb INSTANCENAME=
REINSTALL=SQL_Engine REBUILDDATABASE=1
SAPWD=

I get prompted to reinstall, and therefore overwrite the system databases. Then, just before the databases are copied to the DATA directory, I see the following status message:

Running action to shutdown instance (Run As Normal User)

RANU instance Shutdown in progress: MSSQL$INSTANCENAME

After 10 seconds I get the following error message:

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Setup

The SQL Server service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, “How
to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files” and “Starting SQL Server Manually.”

Retry / Cancel

I can only “cancel” the process.

Any ideas why am I getting this? Obviously there are no system databases so the SQL Server service will not start (that’s why I’m rebuilding them).

If this is a Microsoft flaw then it’s a pretty major one as the only option seems to be the reinstallation of the entire application.

SQL SERVER EXPRESS 2005 FREEZE

I have a server machine running Windows Server 2003 and sqlserver express 2005 for a client-server application.
All clients machines access the server thru a router fine with good response time but if the internet conecction fails suddenly the sqlserver freeze. Any sql command takes a long delay. What could be the reason ?. What is the relation between Internet and sql server express ?Thanks.
