I think the easiest solution would be to log on to her old mailbox and export the items to a .pst file, and then import them from her new account. If that fails, you might try renaming her old account again, because Exchange doesn’t always make the changes automatically. It can take some time for [...]
In group policy, have you: Enabled “disabled computer configuration settings”? What is your group policy refresh interval set to and how long has it been since the GPO settings were applied? The GPO is linked to the domain? Have you run “secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy” on the workstations?
If you are using MSSQL then you can use the convert function like this: select convert(char(11),getdate(),108) the 108 at the end is a canned format for just the time in 24 hour format.
Dear Sir Try to download Console MMC 3.1 and make sure you have the latest Installer
Restore yesterday’s backup to a new database name. Then run DTS (SQL 2000) or SSIS (SQL 2005) and port yesterday’s version of the table to your current database. Then inspect the log. You may or may not be able to recover the data added since your last backup. Then have your head examined. NO ONE [...]
what does your bios report? Check your bios manual you may have to paly with some of the settings to get the throughput you want
The MS article 817809 should resolve the issue if you satisfy the prerequisites under the the MORE INFORMATION section. If you have Exchange 2000 and have installed service pack 3 and the August roll-up patch you still have to make the registry change “Incoming defaults to IPM.Note” shown toward the bottom of the article. If [...]
I do NOT think the tuning will work with what MS gave developer’s. Tuning is generally something that happens when developer products begin hitting the real world. I suspect that is when Microsoft expects to be paid for allowing production work to actaully begin. Microsoft likely also thinks: As a developer on your own workstation [...]
Hello, I can’t say exactly where the problem is, but from your description it sounds like you have not properly configured Exchange to allow access to those computers in the wireless network. In the smtp server properties, choose the Access tab and set access control to anonymous, and then configure access for your wireless network [...]
Some patches reset the access rights to some websites in SBS. I would double check the ACLS for the folder level as well as the IIS. I have seen this issue and that was the solution. Check tha IIS logs to see what websites, folders or files have the access changed.
This greatly depends on the complexity of your network. For smaller networks, a notebook with device configuration an electronic backups and Visio drawings is fine. There are even some freeware/shareware applications that can help with the visual part of this. For security and operations requirements, documentation is very important. IP ranges, protocols used by each [...]
First, the internet connection side of the network configuration is not going to matter unless you have over a 100 MB internet connection. Most ISPs do not go over a 10 to 15 MB connection for small business. Moving to a managed switch can be a big help. I recently moved our small business from [...]
Microsoft has posted an update to Windows XP that resolved this problem. They MAY also have updates for other Windows versions (I haven’t checked). Jay
Try checking to see if the properties for auto refreshing the data when you open the workbook are set. This can be set to automatically open the required spreadsheet(s)/data file without user intervention. I use this to get data from the web automatically when I launch a workbook for epos data to be collated. I [...]
If you don’t want anyone to be able to change the desktop profile (except temporarily on their own loged workstation) – use mandatory profiles. Simply change your roaming profile “user.dat” to “user.man”. Do that on the server NOT the workstation. Then log each machine on once. You should see user.man in the local copy too. [...]
Hello, We use BeyondTrust Privilege Manager to elevate permissions to applications while the user still has user rights. snippet from beyondtrust http://www.beyondtrust.com/products/PrivilegeManager.aspx BeyondTrust? Privilege Manager gives organizations the ability to implement the fundamental security principle of least privilege using native Windows security constructs. This principle is essential not only as a security best-practice, but also [...]
Windows 2003 based AD allows this behavior by default, with a 10 computer limit. You can limit this in group policy security settings, local settings, user rights assignment.
I would set up a test machine and use gpedit.msc to create a local policy. Set the policy to download and install at a time when no user is logged on. This should automate installation and reboot without any user intervention.
I had the same situation. I wanted school students to be able to remove their USB drives without giving them rights. Here is what I did: 1. Create a shortcut named ?Safely Remove Hardware? with the target location of %windir%System32RUNDLL32.EXE shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll 2. Place the shortcut on your start menu (network or local) 3. Open [...]
