One of my family members needs some help! He has a table in SQL Server 2008 with the attributes name and ID. The ID is a generated value like this: INSERT INTO table (name) VALUES('bob');Now, he's looking to get back the ID in the same step. How can he do this?
In SQL Server 2008, I have a string column in my table that displays data like this: "CXL P/D 08/15/13" Now, I'm trying to convert it to datetime but I can't understand how to extract only the date and change the data type. Could someone help me find the right statement?
