We want to upgrade our SQL Server 2000 to SQL 2005. What should we watch out for and what is the actual procedure for the upgrade? Will it require another server or can the upgrade be done in place?

When upgrading from SQL Server 97 to SQL Server 2005, what needs to be done? Can I restore 97 backups to 2005? Do I need to install any other software? Is this an easy process? We have 6 databases with about 300 GB of data currently.
