I have a one server setup, Server 2003 R2 with Exchange 2003. I had another server crash that did host this but had to create a new one. The old server, SERVER1 is still visable under Servers in the Administration group. I have rehomed Exchange and have all mailboxes on SERVER2 but I can’t delete SERVER1 (error message is “still contains mailboxes”. This configuration has been running about 1 year. I had to delete IIS v6 from SERVER2 and reinstall it. Now I have no inbound mail and no outbound mail. The reason I deleted IIS was to re-install to see if I could get a virtual SMTP server to appear. Please help as we are dead right now. I will keep checking back as we have no email!

Hello Everyone, I am in dire need of some help. I have recently taken over an I.T position. I have been asked to implment Exchange. I am running Small Business Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 installed. At the moment our ISP controls our outgoing mail (smtp.dsl.pipex.com) and our domain provider controls all incoming (mail.supersoftware.co.uk).

So im stuck. I have been assured that supersoftware will change the MX records to point at the static IP of the router, other than that I am not sure what to do. How do I ensure Exchange is configured correctly to recieve all the mail once the MX records are changed? I am not totally familiar with Exchange so I really am looking for guidance.
