SBS 2011 on Dell PE 2950

Hi guys I am having an issue installing SBS2011 to a dell 2950 when the install gets to the expanding files consistantly at 40% the installation fails on a cannot install file is missing or currpt. This is from the genuine DVD I have also tried form a bootable USB (slower but same issue different install source) I hvae tried reconfiguring from the two 1 TB drives in RAID 1 to 1 drive in raid 0 no difference drives ar only 7200 rpm (only ones available at the time) I have 8GB of ram. The only thing to bear in mind is that it was a second hand auction buy am I just looking at a busted server? Cheers

got sbs 2008 exchange 2007

my users (only office 2007) however 2010 office users cant seem to connect to autodiscover) keep getting a pop up saying connect to

remote.domain

username and password popup

I know this was a bug that was fixed with service pack one

i have howerever installed service pack 2 and still no joy

help please what steps can i take to troubleshoot

SBS 2003 to 2011 Migration Failure

I’m running out of ideas on my SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 migration I’m attempting. The SBSSetup.log file contains the text at the end of this post showing where it bombs out. The migration appears to fail on SharePoint. The client doesn’t even use SharePoint. I’ve run the best practices analyzer and all the other steps in the migration documentation twice now with the same result. After the first attempt I restored from backup, fully removed SharePoint and reinstalled it using Microsoft’s documentation (manually removed it piece by piece then used Add/Remove to change components on the SBS entry to re-add SharePoint using disc 3 of SBS 2003). And of course, after reinstalling SharePoint I reinstalled 2.0 SP3 for SharePoint.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this problem? The error message doesn’t appear to be one publicly documented in this context…

Problem migrating SBS 2008 to SBS 2008

hello,

i’m facing a problem while trying to migrate SBS2003 to SBS2008

when installing sbs2008 it reads my answer file. But then i get an error: “the schemalevel of the existing sourceserver hasn’t been adjusted” you have to adjust the schemalevel on the sourceserver.

so i thought ok, i’ll just do adprep /forestprep adprep /domainprep adprep /domainprep /gpprep right? apparently not as i keep getting the same fault. when i run the source server migration tool it cannot prepare looking at the code it shows me this:

Outlook Calendar Events uneditable

Following a move to a new domain, We exported users mailbox to PST’s and imported into the new server/domain. Now users have some calendard events and meeting requests that have copy in the front of them and are uneditable. Useing SBS 2011 and Office 2007. Is there a way to change the permissions, or ownership of these events so that they can be edited?

Exchange mail store won’t mount after restoring OS from backup, but .edb file was on another drive that stayed current?

I have a SBS 2003 server with 2 hard drives. 1 hard drive has the OS on it. The other has file shares and Exchange files, such as the log files and the .edb file. The first drive went bad, and I used a week old backup image of it to restore from, however, the second drive with the exchange stuff stayed the way it was.

After restoring the OS to the week old backup, the information store would not mount and I got the following message,

“An internal processing error has occured. Try restarting the Exchange System Manager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both…

ID no: c10417244″

Any ideas on what to do from here? Does it even matter that the OS is a week older than the mailstore?

Exchange 2010 , public folders

We migrated from SBS 2003 to exchange 2010 on a STD 2008 server.The migration went fine.
We chose not to move the public folders. There are no copies of SBS 2003 available any more.
Now we get this error Event Log: application
Type: Error
Source: MSExchangeMailboxAssistants
Category: FreeBusy Assistant
Event: 14029
Message:
Couldn’t find an Exchange 2010 or later public folder server with a replica for the free/busy folder: EX:/O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP.
What is the best way to get this done. reinstalling MBX role would be last priority.
