VivekSharma, Scott Klement offers some excellent info on SFTP. Check out http://www.scottklement.com. Also see a IBM Redpaper titled Securing Communications with OpenSSH on IBM i5/OS. With these 2 resources I was able to setup SFTP between our IBM i and a Unix system. There is a free software tool called Expect that Scott talks about [...]
Some antispyware software is running on your machine, and it is alerting you because an executable file has been changed, and it could mean that some kind of malware has infected your computer. If you did not deliberately install or update a program that uses the executable file mentioned in the alert, you might want [...]
One kind of virus / malware. use MWAV (a free small anti virus tool) to scan ur computer and recognize it !
Hi, i think one of the reason why your configuration doesnt work is just because of the Cisco Packet tracer limitation. I’ve experience the same but in my case, its ip-helper address. For some reason I don’t know why it doesn’t work but on actual application my configuration is 100% working. My suggestion is, you [...]
go to 2810 router tha go to fastethernet type no shut down exit go to sub interface fastethernet and type ip address x.x..x.x .x.x.x.x encapsulation dot1q x no shut ——————– Or, if you’re reffering to the VLAN interface (Interface VLAN 1, for example) try: Router(config)#Interface VLAN 1 Router(config-if)# no shut Router(config-if)# exit
Our software was developed over the last 15 years. Durring that time there has been a constant turnover in staff and seldom was there anyone with much prior experience. As a result, we have a lot of spaghetti code and it is overflowing with hard coding. Our goal this year is to rewrite our main [...]
Ok, lets start from the beginning, as it seems the most of the work is already done. Using the configuration you provided, can you ping the other end of the same subnet in the opposite equipment? E.g.: (before trying anything, please confirm that all (sub)interfaces are UP) On the switch, subnet 1 IF, ping the [...]
I would include an antivirus (which nowadays usually includes an anti-spyware and sometimes an intrusion prevention component), an additional anti-spyware, a software firewall, and a well patched OS. ————– Agreed: Currnet OS updates, Anti-malware programs and good usage habits are a must. Depending on the network devices you’re sitting behind, most defaults in Windows, for [...]
I recommended do post graduate or masters’ degree on computer i.e. MCA…. and if possible do CCNA side by side or after completing MCA ————————— Before going for your CCNA security, go for your CCNA. The CCNA is 1) a pre-requisite to getting the CCNA-Sec and 2) Lays the foundation of networking needed to successfully [...]
What kind of switches / router do you have? If you have “advanced” switches, you could set one of them up to BE the router; if not, then either set up a trunk port from the router to one switch; or use 2 ports on the router to 2 ports on one switch in the [...]
Where do you put the command? You have to put the <pre>ip default-gateway xxxxx</pre> in the global configuration mode not in the Vlan interface. This is <a href=”http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/software/release/12.2_25_se/configuration/guide/swipaddr.html#wp1037806″>manual IP assign guide</a>. This <a href=”http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/software/release/12.2_25_se/configuration/guide/3560SCG.pdf”>E-Book</a> is Catalyst 3560 Switch Software Configuration Guide from cisco. May be you have enabled ip routing if so disable ip routing [...]
Layer 3, or L3, switches forward packets based on Layer 3 address, which is IP address. Layer 2, or L2, switches forward packets based on data-link layer, which is MAC address. An L3 switch is basically used to efficiently route inter-VLAN traffic or to do internal routing between multiple broadcast domains while keeping Layer 2 [...]
Hello Krishh, Layer 2 handles traffic at MAC level so just above the physical layer, while Layer 3 is more complex. You can read more here. —————— It would be useful to consider the whole OSI model and how layer 2 and layer 3 fit into it. The network layer provides the functional and procedural [...]
Never used that program before, and have never needed to. If you want to delete a user profile, just go to “c:users” and delete the user profile folder and all of its contents. If you want to modify the default profile, go to “C:userspublic” and modify the contents the way you like. ———————– You can’t [...]
Hi, Just posted my answer to <b>Bandwidth & prerequisites for VMware View</b> <a href=”http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/vmware-view/”>here</a>. An answer to <b>Upgrade Exchange 2007 from 2003 (downgrade license of 2007)</b> posted <a href=”http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/upgrade-exchange-2007-from-2003-downgrade-license-of-2007/”>here</a>.
Please clarify what you mean by “100 tcp connections per internal ip address.” – Are you referring to outgoing or incoming connections to/from the hosts?
Depends. Vlan’s separate the network so do you want to separate the network for any reason?. Maybe for security reasons or for sizing purpose (is your network growing bigger than you expected?). Most people that create Vlans do it basically for these two reasons, amongst many. Hope this helps ———————————– Agreed – the best reason [...]
Hey I did posted couple of articles in my <a href=”http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/network-technologies/how-to-configure-intervlan-routing-between-cisco-catalyst-switches-and-hp-procurve-switches-series-1/”>Network Technology and trends blog </a> which explains trunking in both Cisco and HP Procure Switches as well as sample configuration. Cheers Yasir ———————— As long as both devices support open standards – like 802.1q trunking, then yes. We have several HP, Cisco, Juniper and [...]
If i read your question correctly, then no, the Procurves are switches that do not enact DHCP themselves, so devices cannot get an IP from the Procurve. It IS possible to assign specific ports to individual VLANs and set up DHCP scopes on a router/server to give those VLANs IP addresses And “priority rules” sound [...]
Instead of using encryption keys, you may want to consider using certificates if you want to be automated. ——————————- It would almost be easier to create a WVLAN or 2, and send out some sort of communication with each VLAN/SSID’s pass-phrase…
