A couple of the easiest ways: TFTP or Xmodem… (recommend the TFTP upload) A great how-to for this is on <a href=”http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1828/prod_release_note09186a00800810f3.html”>Cisco.com</a>
After following the steps in the following article, the problem was resolved. <a href=”http://powerbiz.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!4549FE505D68E9F1!146.entry?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=95986152″>http://powerbiz.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!4549FE505D68E9F1!146.entry?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=95986152</a> Now I just wish I knew what caused it? ——————————— When you setup the second site, did you assign specific subnets to each site? That’s how AD figures out which site the workstations belong in. After the computer is rebooted it [...]
Cisco is very good , But i prefere microsoft, and i recomend to start with MCDST, then MCSA 2003 & then upgrade to 2008 Also you may continue from MCSA 2003 to MCSE 2003 & then upgrade to 2008 check microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-windowsserver.aspx#tab4 ————————— Depending on where you want to focus, The CCENT/CCNA is a great [...]
Have u tried to do a system restore back to point before you did the same. Hope u may overcome to navigate <a href=”http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/2326c6a13572aeb788257363002b62aa/083a3388bd9f7477ca2573910004866c?OpenDocument”>Here</a> ———————————— Best way to use symantec: Dont use Symantec… difference between these two…..
A few good IT security paths are 1) the CCNA / CCNP / CCIE Security from Cisco , 2) the prestigious CISSP security certification or 3) a little bit of both. The Cisco route covers a bit of networking, which you should understand if you’r to be the one protecting it. The CISSP is more [...]
Yeah you can. If your modem + Router can do dhcp, just plug the modem into the switch and let all the PC’s be DHCP and its done…. the PC’s will get the IP from your router and you can surf the web —————————- Like Jinteik said: Wire your modem to your router, router to [...]

Seems that you might need to add a route between the main office to branch. You can do this by adding/configuring a routing protocol (RIP, OSPF, etc) in both routers so they can exchange routes to the known networks between them. Another solution (more easy) e to configure a static route from the main office [...]
The article you mention “The 60 Minute Network Security Guide (First Steps Towards a Secure Network Environment)” covers a few great and time-proven methods for hardening your system. However, the last REAL update to it was 29 March 2006. (in computer years, thats a LONG time ago) Using the concepts in the document are great, [...]
Hi Zuesman, I have been working with TrendMicro with great success for about 6 years now. Before that worked mainly th Symantec. At that time, the main reason for the change was the heaviness of the Symantec products. I think now the things are the other way around, Symantec being a more light weight product. [...]
Hi Troubleshooter2, I don’t see any major problem of using Remote Desktop over a L2TP or IPSEC VPN (knowing that both can be implemented using only Microsoft technology). As for LogMeIn I also have some reserves once the session traverses devices that you don’t know and don’t have any control over. I haver several clients [...]
I reckon that depends on where your biggest threat lives. I would start by hardening the wireless piece by not allowing wireless access to the router and changing the admin password quarterly. It should be a complex password as well.Once you get a complex password in your head you can make minor changes that will [...]
Try to make work directly to the server from internal work bypassing the TMG server ! If so, the problem may in TMG configuration, Try to observe the TMG log, and it gives u a good idea what is happening. For managing, please give a look <a href=”http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996347.aspx”>POP / IMAP</a> And almost same Q is [...]
First thing that comes to mind: RDP
It’s always “Possible” for anyone to intercept network traffic, if the conditions are right. The beauty of the VPN is that your transmissions are encrypted and a bit more secure. The vendor of the device isn’t as important as the hashes, protocols and algorithms they use to establish your VPN tunnel (IPSEC, L2TP, PPTP), how [...]

May wanna look at the routing to ensure whatever protocol you’re using knows about ALL of the subnets, so it knows where to send the traffic…
Try to identify which process is starting that connections and clean up your system. fport can help you to identify the process behind a network connection. JC ——————- Umm.. if you’re accessing the “connection page of my router ” with your PC through your <b>web browser</b>, the <b>port 80 </b>packets are most likely coming from [...]
If you have 20 separate connections that are all centrally connected by VPN’s, are you not already using them simultaneously? Or maybe I don’t understand the question fully
Every progam I’ve ever seen that uses SQL recommends that you exclude their program directories. But you should definitely install antivirus software on it. You’re SQL server is for sure one system you wouldn’t want to have infected with a network virus, so make sure you keep it protected.
