Hi All,

After installing AVG free edition on Windows XP and doing
the scan. I reboot my laptop and all the sudden the files that I have in my
desktop and the C drive are disappear when I go to C drive I saw just a single
file called (drwtsn32.log). It seems that all the files in C are hidden for
some reason.

I opened (drwtsn32.log) and following comes up:

———————————————————

Microsoft (R) DrWtsn32By the way, I performed the following procedure but none of
them work:

* Virus scans by Kaspersky 2011.

* Restore point using windows tools.

* Went to Regedit – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE – SOFTWARE – Microsoft
– Windows – CurrentVersion – Explorer – Advanced – Folder – Hidden and I check the value there.

* Run TuneUp 2008 trying to find the register error .

Can anybody help me with that?!

I recently upgraded AVG Free 9 &10 to AVG Free 2011. THe first two installs failed and the third one worked. However, throughout the day, I notice a popup screen asking permission to access my internet connection. The message says “hbf.cloud.avg.com” is wanting to access my internet connection. What is hbf.cloud.avg.com? My AVG is set for a 4am update and scan, this message I’ve mentioned pops up several times per day between 8Am and 2AM. Is this a problem or a part of the AVG Free 2011 antivirus software? THank you

Which is the better freeware… Cloud antivirus or AVG?

Also, when installing one in favor of the other, should the previous software be deleted? In which order should this be done?

For example: I’m running AVG right now, and I’ve been told Cloud has a more effective product. Should I delete AVG first and leave myself (briefly) open to attack? Or should I install the Cloud software, and then delete the AVG? Or do nothing?

How does this affect those who have installed ‘pay-for’ versions of anti-virus software that needs to be updated for a fee?

I have had no problems, by the way, with AVG…

I am running Microsoft Outlook 2003 and have an AVG Firewall and (apart from occasional glitches) don’t have any problems with e-mail. One sender’s e-mail however never arrives (my partner’s). It goes into his “sent items” but never arrives at this end. I have added his address to my “safe senders list” and the domain name. I have also clicked the junk e-mail button to ask that all mail from this account is received but nothing seems to make a difference. I don’t encounter problems, that I am aware of, from any other sender and the contents of those I don’t receive (believe me) are quite benign.

I would be very grateful to anyone who could help me as this is very frustrating all round. Thank you,
