looking into a networked document scanner

My boss recently has asked me to find a networked document scanner. I’ll be honest and say i’ve never in my life used or seen one lol. I’ve been looking around and doing some shopping for one tho. I’ve turned up a promising one, but its a very pricey one. I need one that can scan multiple pages from a remote location to a file located on a server. of course this will all be done over a local network and though a VPN. Apparently this should not be a problem, the problem comes in where I need this machine to have some form of option per user. I need the machine to be able to (once selected to) send to a specific file per user. Maybe something like how a fax machine has an address book that you select with place to send it to, the users will be able to select an option and that option will print the document to their specific file on the server.

the Fujitsu fi-6010N is the machine i’ve found , it looks like a good one and will possibly do all that my boss wants it to do. Has anyone here had any experience with this machine or my specific problem and may offer any help please do. THANKS!!

I have one issue -

In my office there are three scanners are working each scanner scanned couple of documents throughout a day. Scanned files are stored in a shared folder. I need to calculate how many scanned files each machine produced.

Is there any counter software which gives me a net count of each machine in a day.

Let’s suppose i got net 25000 scanning in a day.

15000 did my first resource.
5000 second
and 5000 third.

how can i calculate the number of image files that each machine produced.

Looking for a driver for a Linotype-Hell Topaz Scanner

This is a follow up (of sorts) to this question The fine people at the Apple store referred to my old Mac as “vintage” – translation – they can’t fix it. So I went to plan “B”. I installed a PCI SCSI card in a WIN XP machine. The computer recognized and loaded drivers for the card. I then connected the Linotype-Hell Topaz Scanner that used to be connected to the Mac. Windows said it needed a driver for the device but it did recognize it as a Topaz scanner!. I can’t seem to find a driver for this scanner. The scanner is a Linotype-Hell Topaz flatbed scanner. Does anyone have any idea where I can find a driver for this dinosaur?

Looking for Multifunction Printer that has very good scanning abilities

I’m looking for a multifuntion printer that will do an excellent job of scanning slides. I had considered the Canon MP 960 or 970 but the reviews I saw said that they didn’t do a very good job of scanning. Also I would like something around $200. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
