SBS 2011 on Dell PE 2950

Hi guys I am having an issue installing SBS2011 to a dell 2950 when the install gets to the expanding files consistantly at 40% the installation fails on a cannot install file is missing or currpt. This is from the genuine DVD I have also tried form a bootable USB (slower but same issue different install source) I hvae tried reconfiguring from the two 1 TB drives in RAID 1 to 1 drive in raid 0 no difference drives ar only 7200 rpm (only ones available at the time) I have 8GB of ram. The only thing to bear in mind is that it was a second hand auction buy am I just looking at a busted server? Cheers

got sbs 2008 exchange 2007

my users (only office 2007) however 2010 office users cant seem to connect to autodiscover) keep getting a pop up saying connect to

remote.domain

username and password popup

I know this was a bug that was fixed with service pack one

i have howerever installed service pack 2 and still no joy

help please what steps can i take to troubleshoot

SBS 2003 to 2011 Migration Failure

I’m running out of ideas on my SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 migration I’m attempting. The SBSSetup.log file contains the text at the end of this post showing where it bombs out. The migration appears to fail on SharePoint. The client doesn’t even use SharePoint. I’ve run the best practices analyzer and all the other steps in the migration documentation twice now with the same result. After the first attempt I restored from backup, fully removed SharePoint and reinstalled it using Microsoft’s documentation (manually removed it piece by piece then used Add/Remove to change components on the SBS entry to re-add SharePoint using disc 3 of SBS 2003). And of course, after reinstalling SharePoint I reinstalled 2.0 SP3 for SharePoint.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this problem? The error message doesn’t appear to be one publicly documented in this context…

Exchange 2010 , public folders

We migrated from SBS 2003 to exchange 2010 on a STD 2008 server.The migration went fine.
We chose not to move the public folders. There are no copies of SBS 2003 available any more.
Now we get this error Event Log: application
Type: Error
Source: MSExchangeMailboxAssistants
Category: FreeBusy Assistant
Event: 14029
Message:
Couldn’t find an Exchange 2010 or later public folder server with a replica for the free/busy folder: EX:/O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP.
What is the best way to get this done. reinstalling MBX role would be last priority.

Trend Micro information

My company (the company I work for) uses Trend Micro as their security for 0000′s of computers and servers. on a lot of the server and computers Trand Micro top level directory folder is HUGE
I am talking GB’s in size. I think it is the old av updates that are causing this but cannot find the folder where these are. also is it safe to delete some of these and keep the most recent.
does anyone else have this issue? or has anyone came across this?

Exchange server SBS 2003 home connection XP Vista Win 7 Office 10 problem

I use SBS 2003 in the office and connect from home on my lapto running Office 2003 under XP. All fine until I install the latest Office. Since then no connection is possible.

I tried the new Office on a Vista and Win 7 PC and had the same problems.

I have tried everything, I cannot rever to 2003 and have access again to the SBS 2003 Exchange.

Do I need my small business server?

We already have different groups for different departments and now we need to assign applications on a per user basis. This will give us the ability to have an application follow a user from workstation to workstation.
