Hard Disk not getting detected

My hard-disk is not getting detected.. Day before it was, I just removed the ram & from that moment itself, everything’s stopped working.!! Mine is a 915gm motherboard with IDE Hard-disk connection.. When I tried it connect with some other IDE cable it did not take, and when I checked it with a Sata connection, hard-disk kinda worked.. What could be the problem.. How can I temporarily solve the problem?? Has my hard-disk crashed completely, even though it was working just a day before Plzz help

this server has 2 146GB (6G DP 10K) SATA hard disk.
It installed windows 2003 well on one hdd but the second hdd is not sensed whatsoever.

Hello World; At the business we looking to upgrade hard drives for DELL PowerEdge2900, currently having 8 hard drives SATA @250Gb each (used only 7) under RAID5 (one hard drive not configured) Client wants to upgrade Hard Drives to SATA 2Tb each for the 7 drive without killing RAID5, and without an outage in the business. RAID 0 with an Internal and External Drive?

I was wondering if I could be able to set up my default hard drive and a new external hard drive for RAID 0. My internal disk drive is a ST3160815AS ATA Device (149 GB, IDE). And I have a My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDBAAA5000AD6-NESN. Will I be able to have a RAID 0 array with these and if so, is it worth it? Any information on this will be greatly appreciated.

If a sata drive is dying what is the best method to duplicate or clone it without risking the data? Is this the same for ide or scsi drives? If not please list the best methods for these as well across any platform.
