Flat files vs. EDI
You can if your vendor agrees to it. The EDI process adds some security and assurance that that transactions have made it. Some vendors will only want to receive the transaction through a trading partner however, so it may be to you advantage to send as much data as you can to get a price [...]

Simple Object Oriented Code for ALV list
1. If you are doing a simple list – use the function module reuse_alv_grid_display. This function module is well documented. 2. A very nice document exists on ALV grid on the SDN page. This document is called “An Easy Reference for ALV Grid Control.pdf”. https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/abap/An%20Easy%20Reference%20for%20ALV%20Grid%20Control.pdf

CO-PA Reporting
It is possible but you may not be able to use business content COPA. Most likely you will need to create a custom COPA model unless you are lucky enough that the legacy SD data matches the data structure of SAP SD. I doubt this is likely. Regards, dswope

Did you copy the cd’s to hard disk before installation? Did you check the identification files on the cd’s you inserted and did you compare their content to the [...]

Using SAP EDI
You need to use Idocs. That’s SAP’s equivalent of EDI. You cannot use BAPIs or RFCs to create an EDI document although the Idocs do occasionally make use of them. Another alternative is ALE which also uses Idocs to send data to remote systems like your vendors, though this is more usually used I think [...]
