SAP HR: Employee working in two positions different days of the week- Authorisations

We have a person who holds two positions that have different SAP roles and therefore authorisations. The person works two days in one and three in the other.

Currently we have allocated the user both roles against the position but are unable to stipulate the dates when each role begins and ends. So effectively they have access to both roles all of the time.

We would like to be able to automatically assign the role required for each position only on the days they actually perform the role.

Any suggestion are welcome

Help calling an RFC from my Java application to an SAP table

Hi there,

I know next to nothing about SAP and RFC, but let me explain my requirement.

I have one Java-based application system, which is developed based on Java/JSP, snd SAP is implemented in our oraganization. In another system, SAP RFC service and type manager is running.

I want to call an SAP RFC function of another system from my Java application so that it will update the SAP table. How do I implement this in my system? Sample code would be very useful.

Also I would like to know if any installation is needed for my application system? My application system and the SAP RFC service running systems are different.

Hello,

I would like to get into SAP authorizations and security — i.e. the modules 940 950 960. To do this course in England is more than $8,000 (in U.S. dollars) and just I do not have that kind of money.

I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to get certified. I’ve heard that in Bangkok they do it a lot cheaper — I don’t want to go to those extremes, even though I may have to.

Please post any thoughts!

Finding the culprit for data changes

One of the users on our system may have used transaction KP06 to change the plan data for given plan version, period, fiscal year, cost center and cost element.

How can we find out who changed it, on what date and time, the old value and new value?

Marketing my own ABAP subsystem

Can you speak Japanese using BAPIs and JCo?

I am trying to execute some BAPIs on R/3 4.5, using JCo Connector Version 1.1.04. I am sending Japanese characters as part of import parameters to the BAPI.

However, the Japanese characters are being garbled up in the SAP system. Has anyone tried to do this before and encountered similar problems?

Similarly, after executing the BAPI, I am trying to get some Japanese characters in the response back from the BAPI, which again is garbled up.

How-to for an RFC from a Web system

How can I call a RFC via an SAP function from a Web system — actually an ASP system? I know that the .COM Connector is not available in Windows XP, so I need to make some kind of interface to do this job.

Does anyone have any bright ideas?
