I have a question on transferring requirements from a sales order. In 4.7, I am creating a SO for a customer exchange. For example a car battery. The customer purchases a new battery and takes delivery and as part of the transaction, must bring in his old battery for credit. We are creating 1 SO with 2 lines. Both lines have the same part number, but they have different sales order item category and different schedule line categories. If I turn on the “transfer of requirements” flag on the schedule line categories, I can see the requirements in MD04, but both lines show up as a negative. The first line is correct, it should show that there is a -1 requirement to pull out of finished goods. The second line is also showing a -1 out of return stock. I want the second line to show that there is a +1 when the material is returned. Is this possible?

Second problem: For the first schedule line, when the delivery is created, the SO number is replaced with the delivery number in MD04. When the PGI is preformed on the delivery, I can see the requirement goes away in MD04 and the finished goods inventory is also reduced by 1. This is correct. For the second schedule line (which is the negative 1 for the return battery), when the delivery is created, the SO number is NOT replaced with the delivery number in MD04. When the PGI is preformed on the second delivery, the return inventory does increase by the +1, but the SO requirement in MD04 does not go away??

To fix the problem, I have removed the “transfer requirement” flag off of the return lines schedule line category, which eliminated the line off of MD04, but that also eliminated any visibility that we are waiting on return material from the customer.

I have a career question. I want to become a SAP Functional Consultant. Which Module would be right for me.

I have a BS in Agriculture, MS in Computer Science.

I have been working as a QA Consultant/ QA Lead in Software Testing Arena for 8 years. Also worked as a Techno Functional Consultant in SAP BW for 3 months 3 years ago. I have been working in SAP testing / SAP Automation using TAO in SD and MM module for 1 1/2 years.

Should I refresh my skills in BW and find a job in SAP BW or learn (MM, SD, FI, CRM) which is my interest and move to this new role.

I want to move on from a QA / Testing to a SAP Functional consultant as the Job that I am in not challenging enough and I am very much interested in the SAP arena.
