Necessary skills for moving to SAP Netweaver

Hi I’m planning to change my career trend and go for SAP technology. I have more than 5 years’ experience in Microsoft Server and clients platforms along with MS system center products and MS virtualization. My question do I need to be developer if I want to learn SAP netwaver and solution manager , to move to a different job in SAP world. Looking for your recommendation Thanks

Is getting custom SAP development from other clients feasible?

When so many companies are aggressively trying to reduce their costs, getting more for less, is there an opportunity to leverage the custom SAP solutions already developed? Like an “eBay” for custom development?

i dont have idea about sap. i am mechanical engineer presently orcle is our ERP, just i am using the fronthand application as assembly engineer. What is the dif beween sap and erp. what are the programing languages is a must to sap. wht r the basic book material need to learn. And can i learn myself by internet.
