Does anyone know of an open source/cheap document management system? (Windows-based system)

I would like the ability to have a searchable database of scanned documents/photos/receipts/etc. I do not need OCR.

For example, a folder name “Job1″ that I can click on and see subfolders of receipts/photos/documents/etc. And the bility to searh said folders would be a plus.

OR, does anyone know of a better way to manage these documents. My goal is to have digital copies of all documents in a searchable database. Any ideas?

Capture screen w/scrolling marquee

My company uses a 3rd party software. There’s one screen that has a few graphs and a few lines that scroll across the screen. Similiar to a Screen Saver’s Scrolling Marquee. They redesigned the software and this screen will no longer exist. I would like to capture this screen w/scrolling marquee. It doesn’t really matter how much of it I capture. The longer the better. But, I know the longer it is the more memory it will use. I normally use this screen to show my clients to help sell our products.
Is there some type of software or something else out there that can do this??

I’ve recently completed 8 years in the US Navy and I’m looking to complete my degree and I see a lot of talk about ECPI college. It’s a technical college but it’s a 2-year degree. I’m looking to get into computer network design, internet security and computer science and I’m wondering if ECPI or any other technical college would be a good fit for me. Our current approach relies on data from over 20 different business usnits round the world, which operate on different GL platforms. Our core business is car leasing to major corporate clients where some costs and results are estimated till the car is sold after, say, 3 years.

I am wondering whether instead of an Activity Based Costing Tool we should simply look at using a Budgeting Tool bearing in mind the time span and the resulting need for dynamic updates. All the Budget Tool needs to do in addition to budgeting is to allow for detailed allocation of overhead costs in such a way as the cost of services (per customer and product) can be estimated.

Has anyone done this with success or failure?

Integrating with CRM systems

My company would like to integrate our software with CRM software, by importing and exporting customer records. Do the major CRM vendors support a standard way to do this, perhaps via XML or a web service, or does each vendor have a different way of doing this?

CRM 4.0 v’s Customised Mobility Sales Solution

We are a consumer goods company operating R3 & CRM 3 and looking to implement a hand held mobile workforce solution. We are trying to decide whether to use Mobile CRM 4.0 or integrate with a third party customised mobility sales solution.

Does anyone have any evaluations on the advantages and disadvantages of implementing CRM 4 compared with a customised sales application built in dot NET for example?

Any information or experience in any of the following would be much appreciated:

Any problems with CRM 4.0, specifically mobile sales

Problems integrating a custom application with R3/CRM

Advantages of custom applications for mobile sales over CRM 4.0

Any case studies or experience supporting either side of CRM 4.0 and custom applications would be greatly appreciated.

We are looking for strong functionality in mobile sales, scheduling, auditing and reporting, so any advice, assistance or direction will be of help.
