How do the protocols RFC 1483 bridge, RFC 1483 routed, RFC 2684 bridge, RFC 1483 MER and IP over ATM (IPoA) differ?
What is the difference between RFC 1483 bridge, RFC 1483 routed, RFC 2684 bridge, IP over ATM (IPoA) and RFC 1483 MER? Why do some CPE manufacturers support all of these protocols if, for example, IPoA is an application of RFC 1483 MER?

RFC and Polycom Video
We have a Polycom video system that times out after about two hours. Someone mentioned that RFC in our Cisco switches could be the problem. I Google on RFC and got a zillion responses. Can anyone steer us in the “right” direction to see if this the problem and possible solutions? Thanks Randy
