Hi,

I need to ftp from IFS of a AS400 to a remote server using encrypted/secure transfer.

Destination server may not be necessarily an AS400.

I am able to transfer the reports simply, but it has to be encrypted/secure.

Backup to remote server is slow .

Presently we are taking backup of a filesytem by copying it to remote backup server and from there it is written to tape drives. few months ago it used to take 30 mins for 5 Gb, but now its taking 5 hrs for 5 Gb. what could be the possible bottle necks and what are the areas we should concentrate, so that we can resolve this problem. Please provide your valuable inputs.[o:p][/o:p]

Generating Windows events from the event log

Can I generate windows events that appear in the event log from scripts or batch files. For example from an Windows XP system call scripts that ping remote servers and on failure generate a event.

r2 supports 2 concurent remote administration connecions. How can I make
that 3? I can sacrifice the console session or remote control the console
session if I can. Help!

OWA not working on remote server

I have two exchange servers, one in Denver the other in Albq. People on the Denver server can access OWA just fine but for some reason people on the ALBQ. server lost the ability to do so. What to look for and where do I loook for it?

Hello,

I’m working in server 2003, remotely.
I have a few schedule tasks, each running a business program i’m working with and a vbscript which checks that the program ran successfully and suppose to send an e-mail report.

All of this happens during the night, when i’m logged off from the server. the mail is suppose to be sent through the client exchange server.
If i’m logged in the e-mail is being send, no problem there. but it isn’t being send during the night.

is there a vbscript, or other script, that can log on my user to the server during the night, before my schedule tasks start running?

Our Default SMTP Connector (Virtual Server) is not connecting to remote server

We are using Exchange Server 2003 as our Mail Server with a Front end and two clustered Back-end Servers.From past few weeks our SMTP connector is getting disconneted and the external mails are getting stuck in the queue.When we check the queue information it says that “SMTP Connetor cannot connect to the remote server”. Then once we restart the Exchange Front End then the queue gets free and the mails will get delivered.This is hapening randomly for every 2 or 3 days.
So anyone please help me solve this problem.

I want to set up a remote computer to play video files. Only it will be placed about 500 miles away from me. I want to be able to upload files to a server(ftp) and have the remote computer be able to check the server for newly added video files and play them. I want to use wmp 9 with xp professional as the operatiing system. I guess like when you have software on a computer and it occasionally checks for updates.
