HP ML110 G5 server Raid error
I use a HP ML110 G5 Server with RAID1. When the Raid was broken and i rebuilt it under Windows 2003 Server with the Array Configuration Tool it worked. When the rebuild is finished, some data on the drives are destroyed and the system is unable to reboot. Any suggestions? user submitted

Loading Windows Server 2003 – Raid 5 (3 X 500Gb Drives)
Please forgive my ignorance, I usually deal in code and applications, servers and loading OS’s onto them is like talking Klingon to me right now, but I’m learning. I was stupid enough to buy a Dell PowerEdge 800 server with 3 x 500Gb disks already installed (and configured) as a RAID 5. I could have [...]

How to rebuild RAID without obstructing data migration?
I see why RAID rebuilds obstruct data migration. A RAID rebuild is NOT like backup and restore. The rebuild consumes resources, e.g. CPU etc. So if we have the RAID on a separate system (managed by its own CPU) then: Surely this allows a RAID rebuild without obstructing data migration? Do you envisage other options [...]
