  • Add a drive to a RAID 5 without destroying the data

Can you change the amount of drives in a RAID 5 array? For example we now have 6 136 GB drives in our RAID 5 array. Can we add one more drive to the array as either a hot spare or actually part of the array? Currently the array uses all 6 drives.

Hello, what are the best practices of RAID configuration of HDS 9960 storage and Oracle. Currently we are using now Mirroring RIAD 1+0 with 4 disks (2+2). Will the second option of Mirroring 4+4 give us better performance than 2+2 disks? Thanks in advance. P.S. the Oracle instance is OLTP.
