Programming Raid Controller
I know there is software raid and hardware raid. Do you program them the same way? As well do the controller’s have to match drives such as SATA or SCSI? Please forgive this basic question I am new at this stuff.

Perc 6 controller error
My PERC (Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller) 6 controller is beeping like crazy but the server is up. This is on a Dell server. How can I fix this?

How do I force a Sun x4200 with a LSI SAS1064 RAID controller to resync?
How do I force a Sun x4200 with a LSI SAS1064 RAID controller to resync? mpt-status returns OUT_OF_SYNC for one of the drives. A power cycle didn’t alleviate the problem. Does this mean the disk has failed?

Rebuild my RAID controller?
If my RAID controller is down and being replaced, would it still be able to recognize the RAID array? Or do I have no alternative but to rebuild everything from scratch?
