Is there a list of courses to take in QMF for a beginner from course one to the end? If so, could you please list them. We have SkillSoft courses through our Learning Center but they do not them in order from what you need to take first and so on. If you could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Need help with setvar for iSeries query manager using not in ()

I have an issue with a Query Manager where I need help with the syntax for a list of entries in the Select not in ( ) portion.

I have a command that will call an RPGLE module which will call the Query Manager. I know that the quotes have to be supplied by the calling program (found a lot of info in the other Tech articles that helped with this). But I am having trouble with this one.

From the RPG, I have variables for the quote = Q and the info in the () for the select statement.

Difference between QM Query and traditional query

When both a QM Query and a traditional Query are run against a database file with IDENTICAL record selection, the traditional query returns more records. I can only guess that it has to do with a difference in the way each utility handles uncommitted data. It almost looks as if traditional Query “sees” uncommitted changes whereas Query Manager query does not. Can anyone verify this or offer more info on what’s happening under the covers. It is a bit unsettling to see different data sets returned from two different i tools given the same selection criteria. Thanks.

STRQMQRY: The variable should appear without quotes

In my cl the strqmqry I am passing 2 variables that are character but should be numeric when the query runs………….now they have the quotes around them……………..how do I get the quotes out of there so they are treated as numeric????

Delete and Update in Query Magager

How can I use delete and update statments in Query Manager (QMQ) in OS/400. I can able to create QM Queries for Select Statment but not able to update tables using Delete and Update statment.

Please help, a production project in pending for this.
