Has anyone set up a workflow for Unit Testing in QC and what are the things to watch out for?

I’m concious that our current Defect workflow will not suit Unit testing and wondered how other organisations manage it.

Copying Test Cases from one Project to Another in QC

I am trying to copy test cases from one project to another in the same domain and it should work as I get questions about how I want to perform the copy, but when I try to execute I get an error. Has anyone had this problem? Copying test cases between projects was introduced a long time ago. We are on the latest version, however.

Uploading attachments to QC using VBScript

I am able to add attachments to a test in Test Plan module of QC,bt the problem is, if i attach a file i cant be able to attach more other files,it allows only one file to a test in a specific folder of Test plan module

How to predict the number of defects releases to QA? Is any estimation technique available?

To know how we are performing testing on the current build, we can match the current number of found defects with the predicted data and then take decisions of – Are we in the right direction? Are we missing anything, why there is a difference? etc

Is there any estimation techniques available to do this? Any experiences on this please share.

Managing Failed Lots in JDE E1 8.12 QA Module

If you have any tips to get the most from this module for new users, whether it’s configuration/setup advice, or using “vanilla” functionality to manage a complex quality program, please advise.

One specific question we have is this:

Should you release lots using the “Manage Failed Lot” functionality, or if a lot goes on hold because of a failed test, should you use the Lot Status Update functionality?

ERP system

Although this is not particularly ERP technical
problam I would appreciate if some one can give me
some idea to handle this situation.

I am going to implement an ERP software to a manufacturing company.
The problam I have is described bellow taking an example.

this company produces a product called A and it going through 4
machineries to become a finished produict(all the raw materials are
weighted itemsliek powders and up to machine 3 it comes as a weighted
product, machine 4 convetr this powder to solid product which
can be measured by no. of pieces.). so we can define the BOM,
routing etc, accordingly.

But let say after going through first 3 machines the product get rejected
becouse of poor quality. but they do not scrap the product,
they keep this rejected batch aside and once u get a batch of
same product with good quality they add some amount of the rejected
batch and continue this till they get rid of all rejected lot.

so how can I work this out in a ERP system?

Database Quality Control measures?

Hi,
I’m a developer working in a rather simple systems/data environment: three database systems – development, testing and live. obviously as the developer I work on the development server, once my development is done (and tested), the changes are implemented on the user testing server for acceptance testing. once this is passed, the changes are implemented on the live system (used by very demanding clients).

to ensure quality, changes are not meant to be made on the live server without user testing sign-off. but sometimes this stepped is skipped by other developers and causes costly issues on the live server.

Are there any control measures you have in place at your organisation that are used to alleviate such issues?

Oh, Only the database administrators have access to databases however developers access the databases with application logins to the systems.

Hello-I have to develop a 1-day Core Team training class on the JDE E1 8.12 Quality Mgmt module. I want to be sure to educate users as to the pros and cons of this module’s functionality. Any guidance on what to emphasize would be very helpful. Thank you!
