Power Point 2003 vs. 2007 PCI DSS Compliance

Would migrating to Power Point Viewer 2007 change PCI DSS compliance in any way if all patches were applied to 2007? i.e., does the newer version bring anything like ActiveX into the picture?

How do I equate the 16:9 ratio to the “height x width” concept in PPT 2003 so we get the format right?

I work for a church; we have a PC that displays on a large screen TV in our sanctuary and has to have the 16:9 format ratio for PPT’s. However, our Ministry Assistant (who creates a lot of the PPT’s) still has 2003 on her PC at the office. How do I equate the 16:9 ratio to the “height x width” concept in 2003 so we are sure she’s getting the format right?

How robust is password protection in Powerpoint?

I have password-protected a highly confidential Powerpoint 2003 document but can anyone (eg the system administrator) over rule the password protection and gain access to the document without my permission?

.ppt works in PP2003 but not 2007

Hi,

A user recently gave me some “corrupt” 2003 .ppt files; these open fine in Office 03, but refuse to open in Office 07. 07 complains saying: “PowerPoint can’t open the type of file represented by filename.ppt”

Was curious if anyone has a workaround for this, as I’ve never seen 07 not able to open 03 documents. Have tested the file on several computers and verified that the file is good and readable in 03…
