Followed tutorial, created second IIS website binded to second IP & new owaVirtualDirectory. Opens fine on new URL.

Want to change the theme for that URL. Theoretically need to use “set-owavirtualdirectory -defaulttheme Bla2 -enablethemeselection $false“.

This command doesn’t work though. It has no effect. Even when I had just one OWA, it didn’t disable theme selection or lock it to a single theme.

Ask me what other details you would like & I will answer.

HI,

Got a strange one -one user logs into OWA and has been complaining about missing emails – sure enough - if you hit f5 to refresh the page you can see that the most recently received emails disappear. I have logged this user into three separate pc’s and its the same thing – emails disappear and are not in the deleted items — he has no rules set except the ‘remove categories’ which cannot be removed in OWA so I am led to believe. he moves any emails manually. He is a company director and as such its a higher profile tech problem.

AV – has been disabled on from scanning the email system as it appeared to be disrupting the flow of email to mobile handsets. Although it still is active for the server itself -the exchange server component of AV is disabled.

However -his Outlook client is ok and his iPhone seems fine too. Just OWA and just him. My OWA is ok as are two other users that I have checked and no one else is complaining about the same problem. Checked it again this morning and its still doing it. – I have never seen this before and am baffled. I tried using the Restore Deleted Items button – but there was nothing to restore. So, in summary:

No Rules set, affects one user in OWA. Outlook Client and Iphone OK. AV disabled on exchange server component. Not in Symantec Brightmail AntiSpam Quarantine either. Can send a test mail and see it in OWA -hit refresh and it disappears. Would appreciate any info or ideas you might have – thanks

I have one machine running entourage latest version ,to connect to exchange 2010. The problem occurs when emails are sent from one specific domain- the attachments are blank. 0 bytes.
In webmail . OWA , the attachments are fine, when I forward them from same user from OWA , the attachment is visible in entourage. I have disabled all 3RD party transport agents on exchange and disabled Anti-Spam features. I have added the domain to entourage safe/white list.
Can anyone please suggest next steps , There is only one entourage client. I have been unable to reproduce the issue in test environment.
the problem began after moving from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.

Exchange is up to date and Entourage is missing only one update , which i think is not related to the issue.

We’re running Exchange 2003 on Windows Server 2003 with Sunbelt VIPRE for email security. I had a user complain of a strange issue that he is experiencing when using OWA in both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

When he clicks on his name at the root of his mailbox’s folder structure (or in FireFox when he clicks to view the list of folders), there are messages displayed beneath the folder list. These messages do not appear in any place we can find in his normal desktop Outlook (2010). In addition, although the messages show up in FireFox, they are not openable due to an error message. Only in Internet Explorer can they be opened.

According to the dates, they have been showing up consistently for some time, but they seem to be coming from different addresses and with no clear correlation as to why they are being put there. Also, there do not seem to be any strange delivery rules in place (as I am told by the user).

I told him to go to his account in Internet Explorer and move them to his Inbox for now…but I need to find out why this is happening so I can prevent it in the future.

Any ideas?
